Weekly “Intern Field Trips”:
Every Wednesday, my supervisor and other House of CLRK team members would take me on a field trip to visit venues, rental companies, design studios, and even other planning firms. These outings gave me hands-on exposure to Dallas’s event industry, introduced me to key vendors, and helped me better understand how each piece of the planning and design process comes together. In addition to these visits, I often ran errands to and from these companies—picking up samples, rentals, physical products, and deliverables—which gave me even more insight into how all the moving parts of event production come together.
Client Meetings:
Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to sit in on a wide range of client design meetings—from initial concept sessions, where couples shared their first ideas and inspirations, to final detail meetings held just before event day. These meetings gave me a front-row seat to the collaborative process between planners, designers, and clients, and showed how creative visions evolve into detailed event plans. One of the most impactful experiences was being included in the Toyota National Dealers Meeting design sessions, where House of CLRK was hired for large-scale design and production. I joined several trips to the Czarnowski Collective offices to meet with their team, where I assisted by double-checking layout sheets, contributing creative design ideas, and editing the design deck that was ultimately presented during the meeting. This experience broadened my perspective beyond weddings and social events, allowing me to see how design and production come together for high-profile corporate events as well.
